"Women in Music: Someone Will Remember Us"

U-M Institute for Research on Women and Gender. Lauren Pelon, a Minnesota musicologist who has appeared on A Prairie Home Companion, discusses the history of women in music and performs examples on 25 ancient and modern instruments, including the schreierpfeife, krumhorn, Kiowa courting flute, shawm, cornamuse, rackett, gemshorns, doucaine, lute, guitar, lyre, recorders, pennywhistles, concertina, ocarina, hurdy-gurdy, and electronic woodwinds.
