cellochan Policy Guidelines 2010-2011

Welcome to cellochan! These guidelines will help make your experience as rewarding and smooth flowing as possible.

I will be available to talk to you by phone or email any time the need arises throughout the year. The payment schedule for 2010/2011 is as follows: There are five payments a year (35 lessons total or 7 x 5) at two-month intervals. A fee of $25 for concert hall rental and accompanist fees is charged for each of the three formal yearly concerts. Concerts will be held at varying venues. Concert participation is optional. The surrounding opportunities and events in the cellochan program are included in your payment. The exceptions: Outside events such as, concerts I perform in or master classes I give outside of cellochan.

LESSONS:

CHAMBER ENSEMBLES:

Participation in a cello ensemble of two or more players is offered each semester. Ensembles meet twice a month at my home and perform at least once a year. Participants may request a group they wish to play in if they have students they would like to play with. COST: There are four classes in each two-month pay period totaling $88. * Missing rehearsal: Missing more than 3 rehearsals a semester will result in being dropped from the group.

Lesson cancellations, makeups, missed chamber ensemble sessions, & refund policy:

1. Please contact me with any lesson makeup requests via email rather than in passing at your lesson. This helps with organization. From time to time I will set aside several makeup days as needed. People are also encouraged to swap lessons when possible.
2. Severe Weather: If severe weather is the cause of a cancellation you are due a makeup.
3. Changing your regular lesson time: Please try to choose a lesson time that you can commit to. Changing your lesson time will be challenging due to cellochanâs full class.
4. Teacher Cancellation. If for any reason I have to cancel a lesson I will make every effort to make it up. If that is not possible, a refund is due.
5. Students leaving cellochan are responsible for payment through their last lesson only. Any lessons paid for, but not used, will be refunded.
