  1. Concerts are important for your child's growth and musical fulfillment. I encourage you to make every effort to plan ahead for these concerts. Invite your friends for their own enjoyment (we now have tickets you can pick up from me ) and for the added support it offers your child. Always arrive 1/2 hour before concert time for tuning and to ensure a smooth performance.
  2. Students and parents are encouraged to support all performers at our concerts. A kind word and generally supportive actions are important to and appreciated by performers at any level. Remember, we are supporting the process and the person. The eventual result for your student will be: meaningful music making, higher self-esteem, and increased awareness of the positive impact he/she can have on others. Excellence within this deeper context is my goal for your child.
  3. If you have ideas or comments you would like to contribute, positive or negative, I am very open and interested in hearing from you. Don't hesitate to call any time. Your student's happiness and success is the core reason for cellochan.
  4. cellochan is, at present, made up of students from Ann Arbor and surrounding areas. Though some students will naturally not be able to participate in all events, I encourage you to make use of as many as possible.
  5. The payment schedule for 2008/09 is as follows. There are five payments yearly due: Sept. 1, Nov. 3, Jan. 5, March 2, and May 4. Each payment covers 7 lessons making the total 35 lessons during the year. * See events listings on this site for weeks off. A fee of $25 to cover concert hall/accompanist fees will be added when formal concerts fall within a given payment period.
    • 1/2 hour lesson - $38 / one payment: $266.
    • 3/4 hour lesson - $48 / one payment: $336
    • 1 hour lesson - $58 / one payment: $406
If you are unable to participate in this schedule, payment every lesson is allowed at a slightly higher rate:
    • 1/2 hour lesson - $40
    • 3/4 hour lesson - $50
    • 1 hour lesson - $60
Late payments result in a $20 late fee after 7 days.
  6. You may wait in the waiting room before your lesson and feel free to knock on the studio door when it is your time. We do get involved sometimes, but when it's your time, it's our time! There is a clock in the waiting room.
  7. Lesson cancellation and refunds:
    • Weather: If the weather is too severe for you to make it, your lesson will be made up or credited to your next payment.
    • Illness or other: Makeup lessons will be offered on Saturdays from 8-10 AM. Lessons will be assigned on a first come first serve basis. This means your make up may not happen immediately but a week or two later.
Summary: Refunds are given in the following cases only and will be credited to your next bill.
      1. I cancel a lesson and cannot find time to make it up.
      2. Weather was the cause of a missed lesson.
In either case you will be refunded on your next payment.
  8. Students that leave cellochan will be responsible for payment only through their last lesson and will be refunded when lessons end.
